CHRISTIAN VISUAL ART”
Parish Advent Retreat, December 4, 2010, Room #303 St. Albert
Hall
9 a.m. – noon, presented by Robin Jensen, PhD, Professor of
the History of Christian Art and Worship, Vanderbilt Divinity
School
This Saturday morning retreat will attend to the depictions of
the Christmas Story as it has been imagined by visual artists
through the centuries. Participants will be encouraged to
meditate on images of the Annunciation, Visitation, Birth of
Christ, Adoration of the Shepherds and Magi, the Flight into
Egypt, and the so-called Hidden Life of Jesus, and to reflect on
the ways art works guide their devotional life during this
sacred season. All are welcome. RSVP
