Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. Mass will be celebrated at
7:00 AM, 12:10 PM and 5:30PM
with the distribution of ashes
following the homily.
Fasting and Abstinence
-
During Lent all
from the age of 14 throughout life are obliged to abstain from meat
on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays.

Those from the age
of 18 until the day after their 59th birthday are obliged
to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
-
A fast is one full
meal and two lighter meals.
-
All are generally
obliged to do penance.
-
In addition to fast
and abstinence the obligation may be discharged by other good works,
such as voluntary abstinence, prayer, self-denial, almsgiving and
acts of charity.
Stations of the Cross
During Lent the Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday
following the 12:10 PM Mass and again at 7:00 PM.
Adult Formation Series
February 25 – March 11
An Adult Formation series will be held on Sunday mornings from
9:45-10:45
in Room 309 of St. Albert Hall. Sr. Kathleen Flood, O.P. will present on
the topic
God
Rejoices when the lost are found: The story of the Prodigal.
Social Justice Committee
March 1 - 22
The Social Justice Committee is offering four sessions on
Caring for God’s Creation.
These sessions will be held on consecutive Thursdays, March 1 - 22 in
the Fleming Center. The evening begins with a Potluck dinner at 6:30
with the program running from 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM.
This is a family event and children are invited. After an introduction
by Fr. Michael O’Bryan, the sessions continue with discussion centered
on caring for the sky, the sea and the earth.
Parish Penance Service
March 29
The Parish Penance Service is scheduled for Thursday, March 29 at 7:00
PM.
