Emmaus

"Join the journey on the road to Emmaus" (Luke 24:13-49)

Interested in growing spiritually, meeting new people and enhancing your scripture study? Then come join Emmaus!

These small faith communities meet for scripture and faith sharing once per week for six weeks during spring and six weeks in the fall.

Typical evenings include meeting at the servant leader's home, reading and discussing a particular scripture passage and enjoying refreshments. Emmaus provides a way for parishioners to develop their faith among a small group of Cathedral members. Emmaus groups also participate in community service projects.

What Emmaus is:

  • Reading and reflecting on designated scripture with explanatory texts and discussion questions.

  • Gathering with Fellow Cathedral parishioners in a casual, small group setting, for 1 ½ hours a week, six weeks in the fall and six weeks in the spring.

  • Exchanging thoughts on the study topics with the group.

  • Performing service projects selected by the group

What Emmaus in NOT:

  • A therapy group.

  • A test of your knowledge of scripture.

  • A group of religious scholars.

  • A social clique.

Sign up occurs before the beginning of each series. Contact the Cathedral Office at 327-2330.

...As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him...
