Emmaus
"Join the journey on the road to Emmaus" (Luke 24:13-49)
Interested
in growing spiritually, meeting new people and enhancing your scripture
study? Then come join Emmaus!
These small faith
communities meet for scripture and faith sharing once per week for six
weeks during spring and six weeks in the fall.
Typical evenings include
meeting at the servant leader's home, reading and discussing a particular
scripture passage and enjoying refreshments. Emmaus provides a way for
parishioners to develop their faith among a small group of Cathedral members.
Emmaus groups also participate in community service projects.
What Emmaus is:
-
Reading and
reflecting on designated scripture with explanatory texts and discussion
questions.
-
Gathering with
Fellow Cathedral parishioners in a casual, small group setting, for
1 ½ hours a week, six weeks in the fall and six weeks in the
spring.
-
Exchanging thoughts
on the study topics with the group.
-
Performing service
projects selected by the group
