The process of formation is the responsibility of everyone in our parish:  priests, staff, ministers, parishioners as sponsors, godparents, volunteer catechists, and especially parents sharing our faith by questioning, answering, and telling our stories. That's really what happens in religious education! It doesn't happen overnight, or in one year, but rather in a gradual process over years of a child's maturing toward an adult Catholic understanding.

The Religious Education program has a staff of over forty-five wonderful volunteers that work very hard to make the program a success. Each class normally has at least two catechists and they work together in planning weekly lessons, etc.

If you have children and would like to enroll them, please call Suzanne Southworth, Director of Religious Education, at (615) 327-2330 with questions or
email her. She will be happy to discuss the program with you and answer any questions you may have. Also, if you would be interested in teaching or being a teacher's aide in the program, please do not hesitate to contact her. We have training classes for those who have never taught as well as on-going faith formation classes to develop knowledge and keep current on theology.
